CitiBusiness® / AAdvantage® World MasterCard® Review

Business credit cards aren’t what they use to be. Today business credit cards are coming packed full with special perks and incentives that are really giving them some added appeal. The CitiBusiness® AAdvantage® World MasterCard® is no exception. Citibank has recently revamped this offer and it now has a nice bonus offer and provides users with a variety of priority services. The card does have a $95 annual fee (waived the first year) which is something to consider before applying. Here’s an overview of what the card has to offer:

CitiBusiness® AAdvantage® World MasterCard®

  • Designed for businesses with an established credit history
  • Earn 30,000 American Airlines AAdvantage® bonus miles after $1,000 in purchases in the first 3 months of cardmembership*
  • First eligible checked bag free for you and up to 4 traveling companions*
  • Priority Boarding with Group 1 privileges*
  • Earn 2 AAdvantage® miles for every $1 you spend on eligible American Airlines purchases and on purchases at certain office supply, telecommunications and car rental merchants*
  • 25% Savings on eligible in-flight purchases

30,000 Bonus Points

For starters, this offer comes with a sign-up bonus of 30,000 points. New cardholders earn 30,000 miles in American’s AAdvantage program after spending just $1,000 on the card within the first three months of opening an account. This is enough for one round-trip domestic flight.

Rates and Offers

This card offers a regular rate of 15.24%* (Variable). This is not one of the lowest rates out there, but you can’t really expect to find a much lower rate with a rewards card. Therefore, anyone who routinely carries a balance should not be using this or any other rewards card.

Additional Benefits

Sometimes the additional benefits that come along with the card make the offer worth while. These benefits can save you money while you travel. Here’s a look at what the card offers:

  • Checked Bag Fee Waiver: You and up to four other people traveling receive a free checked bag.
  • Priority Boarding: Just for being a cardholder, you get to board early and snag the scarce overhead luggage space.
  • Companion Certificate: You get a $99 companion certificate every year when you spend at least $30,000 in addition to the 30,000 miles you normally earn. These certificates are good for round-trip domestic flights within certain fare categories.
  • 25% Discount on In-Flight Purchases: This benefit only applies to food, beverage, and headset rentals.
